Thanks to a mention by eszter on her blog this picture and its companion have now been viewed over 6000 times! Amazing! I guess a lot of people read eszter's blog and look at her photos...(I took the photo to post it to her restroom gender signs picture pool on flickr). I just think its funny that this (and its companion) are my most popular photos!!!
In other news - I'm enjoying the week off from teaching immensely! (Spring break). I like my routine of getting up early as usual and then going straight to my desk to work on the Nature philosophy and Bettine paper and then after lunch doing either householdy things or going to school to get ready for next week. Tonight while watching the commentary on Monty Python's The Holy Grail - which was actually quite interesting I finished the mega pile of ironing that had accumulated over the past weeks! Now all the ironing that is left are table cloths...
A while back I ironed while watching the commentary on " This is Spinal Tap" -- I think that was actually funnier than the movie- since they all stayed in character...it made the ironing go a lot faster!!!
Next week will be quite busy: I am on the committee that "ok's" departmental budgets..,plus it is the week where we advise students on their fall courses. oh well: I will be ready!
Detroit was a lot of fun- we went to Greektown, ate yummy greekfood (after a long wait since the place was swarming with hockey fans...), looked in on the Greektown casino - an odd and very surreal place and got some yummy greek bread at the bakery. Even though Detroit has obviously seen better days it was still well worth the visit - and I know we will be back!
Our hotel - the Marriott at the Renaissance Center was very nice: we were on the 55th floor and had a great view of Windsor, Canada and the river. The Sunday breakfast buffet was also very good. On the way back to Albion we got a lot of shopping done in Ann Arbor -- we went to "Whole Foods/Paycheck" "Barnes and Noble" (= the first Sunday New York Times I have bought in at least a year) and then "Trader Joe's"...all in all a very good weekend!
